In honor of his lifelong commitment to the Friends of Mercy and Mercy Hospital itself, the Friends of Mercy board has moved to rename this fun filled night “The Andy Healey Luau.

Andy was a major force within the Friends of Mercy beginning as a teenager when he was part of the Honor Guard in 1972 at his first Mercy Ball.  Andy dedicated 45 years of service to the “Friends”.  He served as Chairman of multiple events over the years and was involved on almost every committee year after year. Andy is a former Past Vice President and President of the Friends of Mercy.  For 9 years, Andy served as Advisor to the FOM Board.  In 2015, Andy proudly received the prestigious Theodore Roosevelt award for his  dedication and service.

Andy enjoyed every Friends of Mercy event, but none more so than his beloved Mercy Luau which he originally introduced to the FOM event lineup and also served as chairman. Donning his festive Hawaiian shirt he led the famous “Reverse Raffle”.  Never shy to sell “some” raffle tickets, Andy reached out to all of his close friends, colleagues and cohorts to make it a most successful event. Along with Andy’s family, we are proud to now call this the Andy Healey Luau! We hope you all have a great night in Andy’s honor.  Aloha!
